Though my butt started to feel slight numbness again, I felt invigorated on our drive to the Grand Canyon. There are miles and miles of land where the only thing that seems to grow are rocks. Boulders as tall as buildings sprout from the ground, and in some places, magically pile on top of each other in precarious ways.
The Hospital fulfills that adrenaline rush by being as short, thrilling, and potentially nauseating as a roller coaster ride.
I am a bibliophile. I grew up with a book in my hands and a ceiling-high bookshelf stashed in the corner of the room, full of both paperbacks and hardcovers. I read because I enjoyed being swept to new worlds and different lives other than my own modern, rural upbringing that seemed dull in comparison…
By succumbing to the different forms of enjoying a book, I can appreciate an author’s efforts, learn from their strengths, and judge the dressed up artistry separately.
